Our Verwall Apartment Arlberg is nestled amid breathtaking mountain scenery. In an alpine landscape like this, we feel a deep connection to nature. We would like to share the beauty of this special environment with our guests.


Treating our environment with care is of great importance to us. That is why we incorporate this commitment into our daily activities and invite our guests to make their stay mindful and considerate.

Alpine spring water

  • A special bonus: fresh alpine spring water straight from the tap.


  • Our water comes from the "Steinernes Meer" in the Formarin mountains at about 2000 m above sea level and travels for 200 days through various layers of rock until it reaches us here in the valley.


  • The excess water - i.e. the water that is not needed by households for drinking, cooking, washing, showering, etc. - flows from the spring directly into a small hydroelectric power plant where it is used to generate electricity.

Materials from the Region

  • The The entire residential complex was designed by a Vorarlberg-based developer and built with the help of local small businesses. Materials from the region were used predominantly.


  • Woodplays a key role in the construction. For example, the entire exterior facade was made of Vorarlberg silver fir. Inside the apartment, the doors, floors, and dining table are made of oak. The windows feature wood-aluminum frames, and the loggia is clad in wood from floor to ceiling.


  • Clay is one of the oldest building materials in the world. A clay-plastered wall in the living room complements the other materials used and contributes to a pleasant living atmosphere in the apartment.       

... heating with Geothermal and Solar Energy

Heating

  • Our apartment is heated by a heat pump.


  • Using a deep borehole and a probe, the heat pump draws on the heat stored in the ground and transfers it to the building for heating.


  • There is also a photovoltaic system on the roof of the building that converts solar energy into electricity, thereby covering part of the building’s electricity needs.

Energy saving

  • The appliances in the apartment are energy-efficient. The kitchen is also equipped with an induction cooktop.


  • LED lights are primarily used for lighting in the apartment.


  • The rooms feature individual room controls for the underfloor heating, allowing you to set the desired temperature for each area separately.

... sorting trash properly

Waste separation

  • By sorting your trash properly, you help ensure that different materials are collected separately and recycled.


  • We take waste separation very seriously. All waste is to be sorted according to the types "residual waste", "plastic/metal", "paper", "glass" and "organic waste".


  • Rubbish bins and a precise description of which rubbish has to go in which bin are available in the apartment.
